Kleene .... er, Clean
In my never-ending quest for the "perfect" language, I've started playing with Clean. Clean was recently released under the GPL, and has the distinction of being one of the fastest functional languages around. I was certainly pleasantly surprised with the speed it could compile itself.
It comes with a cool GUI toolkit (ObjectIO) that maps very naturally into the syntax and semantics of Clean. Since this was not available under Linux, but a partial port to Haskell (under Linux) *was*, I have ported the Haskell Linux port back to Clean.
